Boho inspired wedding at The Manor House, Lindley
Becka and Pete’s Boho wedding at The Manor House in Huddersfield
Becka and Pete’s wedding at The Manor House in Lindley was a massive highlight of the year for me. Becka’s style just blew my mind and every single detail was something I would absolutely go for! From her colourful flower crown to beautifully designed boho wedding gown it was a photographers delight! The whole day took place at the Manor House, and it was a fantastic venue, some where I would definitely love to go back to. I asked Becka some questions about her and Pete and the wedding…
HOW DID YOU MEET?
We met online and we chatted for about a week before meeting up.
HOW DID THE PROPOSAL HAPPEN?
Well... I was 7 months pregnant at the time and I had been badgering Pete for years about proposing, I always said please, please, whatever you do... don`t just give it me sat on the sofa… haha!! We have been together quite a number of years and travelled to some amazing places where in my words he "missed the opportunity" sooo I was quite happy with his choice. We love to go up to the lakes and try and get up there once a year for a little trip away usually on August bank holiday. Pete took me up there on 28th April 2018. We stopped off for breakfast in Kirby Lonsdale and then headed to Windermere where Pete took me out on a boat on the lake and kept wanting to stop the boat but me being me kept saying "why you stopping carry on" … ha.. little did I know he wanted to stop to ask me.. I was sooo overwhelmed, shocked and cried my eyes out, it was perfect, just us on a little boat with the most beautiful ring.
HOW DID YOU FIND WEDDING PLANNING?
We booked our wedding in Sept 18 to get married June 19 and I had 9 months to get everything sorted. I love planning and a good spreadsheet with formulas so for me this was amazing! I loved everything about it and I’d even say I miss it now!! i spent quite a bit of time researching and followed some amazing Instagram accounts @festivalbrides, @rockmywedding, #foliagewedding #bohobouquet . Set up a number of Pinterest boards, flowers, hair, dress style, bridesmaids, room decor, really enjoyed getting ideas and deciding what style I liked. Once I’d decided on what theme I wanted, it was just a case of finding suppliers etc and getting things booked/ordered etc.
WHAT WERE YOUR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY?
The most favourite part was walking down the aisle and seeing Pete’s face. i’ll never forget that, then after we got married, the band playing outside, sunshine and drinking cocktails was just amazing!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS PLANNING A WEDDING?
Start planning as soon as you can, go with your heart, you only do it once so make it as special as you can.
WERE THERE ANY SUPPLIERS THAT STOOD OUT FOR YOU?
