Beautiful Wedding at Browsholme Tithe Barn, Clitheroe
Lauren and Craig’s rustic wedding at Browsholme Tithe Barn
It’s always a privilege and an honour when my close friends get married and ask me to photograph their wedding, its a big responsibility but also means I get to spend all day right next to them. My beautiful friend Lauren married her love Craig in August at the Tithe Barn in Clitheroe, where I’ve never shot before and despite it being one of the wettest days of the year we had a fantastic day. As her parents moved out to France years ago she wanted to have a rustic, French theme and Bloom and Green did an amazing job with their beautiful wild flowers.
I asked Lauren some questions about the wedding day and wedding planning…
HOW DID YOU MEET?
On a night out in Squires in Preston just over six years ago. I work with Craig’s best friend (who was one of our best men) we all met up - and the rest is history. Craig won me over with his First in Maths and his ability to name all the members of S Club 7!
HOW DID THE PROPOSAL HAPPEN?
We went on a long weekend to Vegas and had lunch at Lago in the Bellagio overlooking the fountains. It was 42 degrees outside so we were the only stupid people sitting on the veranda in the sweltering heat, but it meant we had the whole place to ourselves when Craig popped the question.
HOW DID YOU FIND WEDDING PLANNING?
I did most of the planning and Craig was in charge of the budget, obviously. Once you’ve got your venue everything starts to slot in to place. Sometimes it could feel overwhelming as there’s just so much choice, but I loved it and miss sitting on the sofa after work Googling random wedding things!
WHAT WERE YOUR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY?
We said from the very beginning we wanted everyone to have the best day ever celebrating with us, basically just having a big party! Seeing it all come together with everyone we love in the room was just amazing. Everyone on their feet dancing and singing in between courses during the wedding breakfast was something we’ll never forget!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS PLANNING A WEDDING?
1. Write lists! 2. Instagram is your friend for finding suppliers and inspiration. And 3. It’s your day, so do what makes you happy - indulge! The day will go so quickly, so just enjoy every moment and take it all in.
WERE THERE ANY SUPPLIERS THAT STOOD OUT FOR YOU?
Jo and Liz from Bloom & Green created the most incredible flower displays I’ve ever seen, LouLou’s made us the BEST cake in the whole world, and Chris from DFC was an awesome host. All of our suppliers went above and beyond for us, we couldn’t have asked for more. Can we do it all again please?!
Take a look at a little highlight of some of Lauren and Craig’s wedding images - I worked with another photographer - Gemma Macauley Photography who second shot for me until after the speeches and then took over so I could let my hair down - thanks Gemma!!!
